Tribute To “America’s Best”
The United States of America – is the greatest nation on earth. Our country is the beacon of light to freedom, the liberators of the oppressed and the sword of democracy. Inspired by our nation’s challenges and possibilities, Robert Battis founded The Bangers All American Rock -n-Roll Band® and the Star Spangled Americans Society®. The band was formed to create music which promotes positive messages, supporting our American way of life & culture – Americanism. In an effort to gather America’s patriots and support the men and women of the US Armed Forces “America’s Best”, Robert Battis founded the Star Spangled Americans Society whose mantra is “Ignore Politics & Embrace Patriotism”®. Sergeant Dave Hoffman, is an 18 year active member of the US Army Joint Operations. Sergeant Hoffman inspired Robert to write the song Bigger Than Life©, which the band played for him at an American Legion send-off party prior to his leaving for another tour of duty back to Iraq, in February 2006. Robert received an American Flag from the US Congress, which he gave to Sergeant Hoffman prior to leaving. Robert signed it along with the members of The Bangers Band. Sergeant Hoffman flew the flag for 400 days over the convoy of vehicles his team protected, which supports US bases in Iraq. He returned from Iraq and presented Robert with the flag seen here, along with another flag found on the front cover. The flag on the album cover has 48 stars. This flag flew proudly in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII by the father of a friend of Sergeant Hoffman named Joe Papa. Sergeant Hoffman then flew the flag in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Both of these flags were brought back from Iraq by Sergeant Hoffman, and given to Robert so he could further advocate support of “America’s Best”. Sergeant Hoffman is a true American Hero whom we all have the greatest admiration for. Sergeant Hoffman along with those he serves with are humble, selfless and unwavering. Robert Battis wrote two additional songs I’m Back From Iraq© and Thank God For You© because of his inspirations about Sergeant Hoffman and “America’s Best”. The song I’m Back from Iraq© is about Sergeant Hoffman’s return from Iraq with the flag he protected while protecting us. He risks his life for something Bigger Than his Life…His Country.
