History

Our journey began in September – 2003 when Robert D. Battis the founder of the “Bangers” Band decided to take lyrics he was writing for twenty years and forge them together with top notch music writers, musicians and artists to create an awesome blend of diverse, original rock-n-roll sounds that have a feel ranging from the Seventies to the sophistication of 21st century modern rock. The music has a rock, blues, pop influence. The band consists five musicians and a dancer. Robert's vision for the bands music is summed up by the motto: “All for Music – Music for All”™.

In 1995 Robert D. Battis met Scott L. French through a business relationship and discovered Scott was a great drummer. They hit it off as friends. Robert spoke with Scott about building a band around Scott in 1996-1997. The timing wasn't right and the vision had to be put on hold. In the summer of 2003, Robert's creativity as a lyrics writer was taking off. Robert contacted Scott who was now playing with a couple of new musicians - Mark Kain and Don Kirksey. He asked Scott if he would like to help him build a band? Scott being the upbeat “Banging Drummer” he is, told Robert he was up for the adventure.

Robert moved forward writing a business plan, and founded the “Bangers” All American Rock-n-Roll Band and the Big Bang Entertainment Company, LLC (BBEC) the company that owns and supports the “Bangers” band. Robert was impressed and inspired by Scott's Banging on the drums and decided to give the band the name the “Bangers”. Scott played a major role in providing Robert a sounding board for Robert's ideas and advice along with ideas for the band. Scott was hired as a songwriter by BBEC, along with four more songwriters, Mark W. Kain, Donald B. Kirksey, Amy L. Tobin, and our newest songwriter Jaime M. Boxell. Scott, Mark, Don, Amy and Jaime made up the “Bangers” All American Rock-n-Roll Band, until May of 2006. In May 2006, there were band changes. The band took on Jeff Boxell as the Bass Player, keeping Don Kirksey as a back-up bass player, and Paul Marturano joined the band as our keyboard player replacing Amy Tobin who the Big Bang Entertainment Company, Inc. is breaking out as a solo artist.

Robert pulled the trigger on the venture, and set up the Big Bang Entertainment Company, LLC (BBEC) and the Big Bang Music & Recording Studio. The band members record and practice at this studio. The band is signed with the record company Big Bang Galaxy Records™, which is also a division of BBEC. The Bangers have been busy at work producing two new CD's – Star Spangled Americans – Love America ™ and Journey To Eternity™. The band had dual citizenship with homes in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Princeton, New Jersey. The band and the studio was moved to New Jersey in September 2005. Two of the band members are moving from Minnesota this summer - 2006. They commute to practice and play out regularly.
